Curriculum

We are committed to an excellent education for your child. Our curriculum not only meets national and Missouri guidelines, but it also provides students with a Christian education that prepares them to live complete lives of service to God and others.

At Immanuel, you’ll find up-to-date textbooks, hands-on learning activities, as well as a wide use of technology throughout the school. Students have opportunities to learn through tablet computers, Google Cromebooks (R), and SMART Boards (R) in every classroom.

ILS follows and exceeds the Lutheran Elementary School Association (LESA) guidelines for classroom curriculum. With these guidelines, our teachers continuously review and revise their classroom instruction for students. For more information, visit the LESA Website.

Our curriculum currently includes Mathematics (McGraw Hill), Literature (Glencoe/McGraw Hill), Reading (Harcourt), Science (Savvas), Social Studies (McGraw Hill), Handwriting (Zaner Blozier), Religion (Concordia Publishing House), Spelling, and Memory Work. Confirmation classes are also offered for students desiring to be confirmed.

Financial Aid

The Lutheran Elementary School Association (LESA) and its collaborative partners offer need-based tuition assistance for Lutheran elementary school tuition.

Flight Program

FLIGHT, the gifted education program at ILS, is designed to meet the needs of academically gifted and talented students in Grades 1–8. It aims to provide an environment that meets the needs of each gifted student through experiences that strengthen the students' higher order thinking skills, nurture their creative abilities, and assist in their social/emotional development. Through participation in our program, students are challenged through learning experiences geared to their level in a small group of peers.
